The interiors concept is to create an environment where children can learn, play and grow into well rounded individuals.
The American School of Bombay is located at Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. It is spread over 100,000 Sq.ft. This basement + ground +1st + mezzanine + 2nd +3rd + 4th + 5th (sky studios). The concept was developed by FNI and SSA translated the concept into the local context. The ground floor, second floor and fourth floor which done in warm colour of violet green and yellow palette has well designed classrooms, laboratories and teachers workroom. The rooms are acoustically treated. The administrative office, library, well lit cafeteria, infirmary and multipurpose hall is located on the first floor. The cafeteria is well designed well lit area.
The third floor houses the performing arts area (band room, chorus room) the black box and drama studio alongwith laboratories, teachers workroom, common room. The sky studios are located on the terrace. The colours used are orange, yellow, brown and green. The structure also houses a swimming pool and gym with changing rooms. Detailed attention has been given to the design of each and every element of the school including the furniture, false ceiling, the carpets, surface textures etc. The interiors concept is to create an environment where children can learn, play and grow into well rounded individuals.
